I have hired and fired my fair share of employees. I have had to review resumes and conduct interviews. I empathize with you in your decision making process, and so I will tell you immediately what you will not see on my resume: organized Church ministry. However, if you really want to read about who I am, and get to know more about the fires that have forged the faith of my family, and really feel our struggles and see our tears, then please ask to read the book I was lead to write that reveals a very difficult three to four year period in my family history (written with my wife's blessing).

Ministry Experience Overview

I conducted my college ministry internship (1 semester) at First Southern Baptist Church, Del City, OK (http://www.fsbcdc.org). I have led many Bible studies, and my wife and I have been asked to serve as lay pastors for singles and lead small groups in different churches we have attended. I have played my violin on several church praise and worship teams over the years. In high school I was the president of my church youth group for 2 years. However, when God called, I ran. That is why I do not have a distinguished record of service to God in an organized religious setting.

However, because of my degree I have witnessed to hundreds, if not thousands of people in my career. As an instructor, a part of my standard introduction was to tell my class my educational background. It almost always started a discussion during breaks or after a class (something along the lines of "so, if you have a degree in ministry, what are you doing teaching computers?" or "why aren't you in a church somewhere?"). God does have a great sense of humor, and never let me forget what he had called me to.

I hope that you will see that my experiences in corporate America have prepared me well to a) teach, b) manage, c) administer, d) lead and follow, and e) excel in the areas God allows me to grow.
